Orloj (Astronomical Clock) was built in 1410 and has been in operation, with short interruptions, ever since. The figures of twelve apostles were added in the 19th century.

Astronomers and physicists that worked and lived in Prague include Tycho Brahe,  Johannes Kepler, and Albert Einstein.

Try on-line the
computer model of Orloj . The model is preset at an arbitrary speed to demonstrate relative movements of its components. It can be stopped by you, coordinates of its components set to new values, and restarted.
